Türkiye’nin ilk The Beatles tribute grubu Meat the Beetles, temelleri 1990’lı yıllarda İTÜ’de atılan bir müzik arkadaşlığının ardından 2009 yılında kuruldu. The Beatles’ın şarkılarını orijinal sound’una yakın bir şekilde seslendiren grup, müziğin yanı sıra grubun genç, esprili ve enerjik ruhunu da sahneye taşımayı amaçlıyor.

Meat the Beetles; The Beatles’ın kariyerinde önemli bir yere sahip olan Liverpool’daki Cavern Club’ın düzenlediği International Beatleweek festivaline 2012, 2014, 2016 ve 2018 yıllarında katıldı. Türkiye’den festivale kabul edilen ikinci grup olan ekip, ilk katılımında bir hafta içinde 13 konser verdi ve BBC’nin “Love Me Do”nun 50. yılı için hazırladığı özel yayında yer aldı. 2016’da festivalin kapanış konserini gerçekleştiren grup, 2018’de ise White Album’ü 45 dakikalık kesintisiz bir medley olarak yorumladığı “50 Shades of White” gösterisiyle festivalin öne çıkan ekiplerinden biri oldu.

Meat the Beetles, Türkiye’s first Beatles tribute band, was formed in 2009 out of a musical friendship that began at Istanbul Technical University in the 1990s. The band recreates The Beatles’ music with a sound faithful to the original recordings while bringing their youthful energy, wit and playful spirit to the stage.

Meat the Beetles performed at Liverpool’s International Beatleweek, organised by the legendary Cavern Club, in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. As only the second band from Türkiye to be invited to the festival, they played 13 shows during their first appearance and were featured in the BBC’s special broadcast celebrating the 50th anniversary of “Love Me Do.” The band performed the festival’s closing concert in 2016 and returned in 2018 with “50 Shades of White,” a 45-minute continuous medley celebrating the 50th anniversary of the White Album.
